Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci, (born November 12th, 1960 Gheorghe Gheorghiu dej (now Onesti] Romania) Romanian gymnast who was the first gymnast to be given a perfect score of 10 points in the Olympic competition. Comaneci was first discovered by Bela Karolyi later the Romanian gymnastics coach, when she was only six years old. She competed for the very first time in the 1969 national junior championships and finished 13th. After that she was crowned champion. In 1972, as part of an international meet of communist country juniors prior to the Olympic Games, she took home three gold medals. After that, in 1973 and 1974 she was named the junior champion in all aspects. In her first international competition with a senior team in 1975 she bested the Russian Lyudmila Turishcheva. She was the five-time European champion, winning four gold medals as well as one silver. The American Cup was hers to win. American Cup in New York City in 1976 becoming the first woman to perform the backward double salto in dismounting off the barres that are not parallel. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. At the age of 13, she began performing in touring shows like Ice Capades as a skater alongside her younger sister Nina Wayne. Carol Marie Wayne, born in Chicago Illinois US on 6 September 1942. Carol was a professional in the field of entertainment in her teens. At the age of a girl, she began performing as Figure Skating Performer alongside Nina Wayne in the travelling show of entertainment Ice Capades. These were shows that featured ice skating performances that were accompanied by theatrical music.
