Audrey Tautou

Audrey Tautou, the oldest of four siblings was born on the 8th of August 1976 in Beaumont Puy-de-Domme. Audrey Tautou's parents who are a dental doctor and a school teacher were supportive and encouraged by her passion for acting as well as theatre. Her initial dream to become a master monkey was eclipsed by her wish to learn about drama and theater. She rose to prominence as a child actress quickly and with enormous achievement. Prior to beginning an acting career she participated in Jeunes Premiers an French show on TV that focuses on talent which was a part of Canal+ in 1998. The program also awarded her the title of The award for the Best Young Actress in her performance in the Beziers Festival of Young Actors. Tautou was born into an Catholic home, and was a member of the religious services, despite having attended school within school at the Institut Catholique de Paris. She pursued a career in modeling alongside her acting career and is the face of L'Oreal Mont Blanc and Chanel frequently referred to as the Chanel Muse. Apart from her acting work she is also interested in photography. The actress recently showed some images in the Arles Film Festival under the name Superficial. Through her photography, she focuses primarily on celebrity and the spotlight. Cameras are focused towards journalists who scrutinized her rise to stardom in Amelie. Audrey Tautou shot to stardom as well as international recognition with her first major role starring as a lead character in Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amelie Poulain. Amelie is undoubtedly a huge box office smash internationally and praised at many award festivals around the globe. It remains the highest grossing French language film to be released in the US. The success of this movie has led to Tautou being cast in a range of roles, including British dramas as Dirty Pretty Things by Stephen Knight and Jean Pierre Jeunet to Hollywood's The Da Vinci Code with Tom Hanks.
