Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford is an American actress, dancer and singer. Some of her early Broadway shows include Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. As the character Essie as Essie in You Can't Take It With You she was awarded the Tony Award. Tony Award-winning actor Annaleigh Ashford has spent the majority of her time working with some of the most acclaimed actors and directors across stage film and television and she continues that award-winning project with various upcoming ones. Ashford is scheduled to be starring opposite Kumail Nanjiani in the Hulu limited series Welcome to Chippendales from creator Robert Siegel premiering on November 22. Ashford's upcoming project includes the Searchlight Pictures horror thriller Dust and he will be starring with Sarah Paulson and Ebonmoss-Bachrach. As an Hulu Original, the film will be a part of Disney DTC's platform. Ashford will be returning in 2023 and will star alongside Josh Groban at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre to perform the return of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. The team behind Hamilton producer Jeffrey Seller and director Thomas Kail is at the leading the show. Ashford most recently starred Paula Jones in the new Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment based on the crisis in America that picked up Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky and Linda Tripp as principal characters as the nation's first impeachment proceedings in over one century. Ashford was a part of two seasons in CBS hit comedy B Positive. It was developed by Marco Pennette, Chuck Lorre and Linda Lavin. It also had Ben Vereen and Elizondo. Sunday in the Park starring George Wicked and Legally Blonde are just a few of her Broadway performances. Ashford has been brought up in Denver is now based between Los Angeles and New York.
